Third edition of Automechanika Riyadh to return in 2022

5 Jul 2021

Month of June confirmed for Kingdom’s only automotive aftermarket trade fair in Saudi Capital

Riyadh, KSA: Automechanika Riyadh, Saudi’s only trade fair for the automotive aftermarket and services industry, will run from 13-15 June 2022 at the Riyadh International Conference and Exhibition Centre (RICEC), the show’s organiser announced.

The 3rd edition was to take place from 11-13 October 2021 at RICEC, however the move to next year comes after extensive consultation with key trade partners, exhibitors and supporters of the event.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health also announced in March 2021 that the RICEC venue would continue to be a 24/7 covid-19 vaccination centre for the foreseeable future, due to high demand from residents and citizens wishing to be inoculated against the virus.

Automechanika Riyadh is organised by Saudi-based Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE) Group under licence from UAE-headquartered Messe Frankfurt Middle East, which organises Automechanika Dubai, the Middle East and Africa’s largest international trade show for the automotive aftermarket and services industry.

Mahmut Gazi Bilikozen, Automechanika Riyadh’s Show Director, said: “We’ve been in regular contact with our key stakeholders, and the decision to return with Automechanika Riyadh in 2022 has been widely supported by the industry.”

“We know everyone is excited about the future, and we’re committed to providing an exceptional business networking and knowledge sharing experience that is expected of the Automechanika brand.

“Saudi is the largest and fastest growing market for the automotive services industry, and Automechanika Riyadh 2022 will present the ideal platform for international and local exhibitors to re-connect and gain direct access to key players in this industry.”

Long-term prospects for Saudi’s auto aftermarket look good after a pandemic-affected 2020;  according to Glasgow Consulting Group, a market intelligence firm, Saudi’s passenger vehicle components market will be worth nearly US$5 billion 2022, compared to an estimated US$4.5 billion in 2021.

Car owners also spent on average US$314 per vehicle on parts in 2020 according to Frost & Sullivan, another consultancy.  Despite the drop in value compared to pre-pandemic levels, Saudi remains the largest auto aftermarket in the GCC, with around 47 percent market share.

Automechanika Riyadh is dubbed as ‘the ultimate destination to meet global manufacturers and suppliers, explore key trends across the industry and source the latest solutions to meet the evolving needs of the Middle East’s largest market.’

Its 2nd edition in 2020 attracted close to 3,000 traders, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, workshop or garage owners, and service providers.

The dedicated trade fair is one of 14 instalments of Automechanika – the most successful and largest automotive aftermarket trade fair brand in the world.  More information is available at
